Here’s how you can participate in all of the Freadom Festival activities! More details below:

COMMUNITY BOOK SWAP : An all ages community book swap! Bring a book to swap a book! If you have any books laying around the house that you’d like to give a new home, or a favorite book you want others to know about? Bring them to the book swap! (This community book swap will prioritize BIPOC books but we will happily accept any and all books you have!) Kids in grades K-8th get one book free!

KIDS STORY TIME: Jelani Memory, Founder and CEO of A Kids Co., will host a kids story hour for kids and their parents and will read from his book “A Kids Book About Juneteenth”. Following the reading there will be a short Q&A and book signing.

Nikki Brown Clown will also be joining us to host our Kids Story Time! Nikki Brown Clown is a community treasure, literacy advocate, and an inspirational children's entertainer. A wide variety of diverse picture books will be read by Nikki Brown Clown infused with music and sounds. This will be an interactive story time that is perfect for pre-k to 8 year olds.

ZINE/BOOK MAKING CRAFT STATION: The Independent Publishing Resource Center will be leading a zine crafting station for our creative and artsy book lovers. Visit the booth to learn about the Zine making process and take home a little piece of bookish art! Sponsored by the

LITERARY VENDORS: Visit our literary booths hosted by local non profits and organizations to learn about ways to get involved, receive reading resources, and more! Vendors include : The Multnomah County Library, SMART reading, Street Books, Third Eye Bookstore, Literary Arts, A Kids Co, Big Yard Foundation, Books to Prisoners and more!

RAFFLES & GIVEAWAYS: We have lots of fun prizes to giveaway to some special festival goers! Visit each literary booth to get a raffle ticket and enter your name to win one of our bookish prizes!
